Insoles For Foot Pain And Arch Pain

The biggest lie the footwear industry told you is that once you need insoles, you need to wear them forever.

Imagine breaking your arm. You get a cast = support. A month in, you go back to the doctor once the bone heals and then begins rehab. Slow and steady movements to mobilize and build strength to restore your natural ability. 
Somehow with feet, when your arch starts hurting because of overexertion, we are recommended to support it forever.

Insoles are medical products that should be used when there is a muscle weakness, imbalance, or tear. This should be done temporarily to avoid even more damage as you move with a compromised muscle. True healing happens through blood flow. Driving blood flow to the weakened muscle with movement leads to faster recovery and a long term solution to your problem.


An arch support locks your foot in one place. This gives you the illusion of being supported, but this just means lesser blood flow, and even more weakness in the long term which makes you dependent for life and the pain keeps coming back for that very reason. 


Here is a protocol that you should follow if you have feet that hurt:

1. Move as much as you can, but don’t go beyond a point of pain. This drives more blood flow to the affected area and begins the healing process.
2. Support your muscle when overloading temporarily to avoid long term injury.
3. Get rid of the support and work on strengthening the muscle naturally so the injury doesn’t come back.
4. Wear minimalist shoes or barefoot shoes so you can actively engage your muscles in the right manner and stay healthy.
