Indian Barefoot Shoes For Women
If there is one country that needs barefoot shoes more than any other, it’s India.
Indian people, men and women have wide feet. This is attributed to India being an agrarian community that works mostly barefoot, and multiple other genetic reasons.
Wide feet in a lot of Indian cultures however, are not accepted as “beautiful”, and a lot of times we let these beliefs lead us to do what may not be the best for our health.
Women in India are often asked to wear flat and narrow shoes to limit their toe spread in an attempt to make their feet look more symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing.
If you’ve faced the same, and have “beautiful” feet, you may want to change that -
Wider the foundation, stronger the foundation, more stable your stance.
Your entire body is supported by two little feet that are engineered by nature specifically for this job. Stationary or mobile, your feet enable you to maintain balance and explore.
As soon as your feet are put into narrow shoes, you lose your ability to engage your big toe, your arch muscle causing a plethora of problems like plantar fasciitis, flat foot, bunions, and so many more joint health problems.
The only way to truly maximize the potential you have is to train your feet to perform optimally. Your feet are probably the most undertrained and compromised muscles of your body. Despite them being the single point of contact with the ground, we rarely train them, and not just that, even make them worse off by putting them in shoes that don’t let them perform naturally.
Our suggestion - ditch regular shoes and make a switch to barefoot shoes.
Barefoot shoes have a wide toe box, a flat sole, and a zero heel to toe drop that helps you regain your natural movement ability and reduce your chances of injury.
Now of course, there may be time you’d want to wear fancy shoes, and nothing wrong with indulging in fashion from time to time, but the footwear you wear regularly should allow you to have the ability you deserve.
If you’re facing any major mobility problems already, we have a free mobility guide that we developed along with physiotherapists you can try.
And of course Zen Origins for all your daily barefoot needs.
